MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Good to Go

I know I just blogged about a fave lipstick, and I want to kill myself for being so indecisive, but I think I'm loving another one even more than Saint Germain. GAH.  I love lipsticks too much that I know now that it's impossible to have only one favorite.  So I'll just pick one favorite from a parent color---like one fave for pinks, one fave for reds, one fave for oranges, etc.  Today, I'll share with you my fave orange lipstick... and I believe it will remain as such coz my other orange lipstick is more coral-ly than bright orange and in no way can beat this new fave as im a "bright lipstick" kind of girl despite/inspite of my skin tone.

Orange wasn't really one of my fave colors when I was a kid since it looks so bright and loud.  I'm morena and I grew up as one of the darker kids that I always veered away from all things orange because I believed it clashed with my skin tone.  Thanks to the fashion gods, they one day pointed out how good blindingly bright, neon colors looked against brown skin.  I was still in high school and did not care to follow or even try what were printed in magazines.  It was only in college when I opened up my world to the wonderful world of Beauty and Fashion and started to experiment in colored clothing, shoes and accessories outside the world of black and whites.

Moving on, I finally got my MAC package about 2 weeks ago.  I only got 5 items, 2 of which I bought for my mom.  One of the three that is mine though is MAC's Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Good to Go which I can't help but rave about.

First is the COLOR.  Some would say it's shocking orange, but I think it really does depend from person to person.  I wouldnt have minded a shocking orange really, but upon application, it turned to a warmer shade of orange resulting to a more red-orange shade on me.  I'm not sure if my acidity levels have got something to do with it but that would be my theory for now.  I have yet to test it on my sister who's blessed with a lip shade that works as a perfect canvas for lip color.  But I'm already assuming that it would turn out more neon on her than on me.  Inggit :(  But no worries, I can always use concealer as base to achieve the same shade..hassle nga lang :/  Also, the color is very opaque that a single layer is enough to prettify your pout.)

Second is the FINISH.    I would classifiy it between matte and glossy which I think is the best!  My lips tend to get dry easily which the formulation of the Pro Longwear line easily solves without giving you the "oily lips" look.  Perfect.

Third is the LONGEVITY. I put it on at 9 in the morning and it lasts til after work, around 6PM (note: Even after brushing my teeth after lunch) . enough said.

Fourth is the PACKAGING.  The tube finish is similar to the usual tube, but in terms of shape and size, the Pro Longwear line case is flat on both ends, slightly slimmer and also a bit longer so still not a problem to fit in your everyday makeup kit.  It packs 0.12oz of product, a 0.2 oz difference from the regular lipstick.  When twisted out of the tube, the lipstick/lipcreme has a flat surface which some may find hard to apply directly on the lips.

The verdict?  Get this if you're the type who doesnt like re-applying her lippie every hour or so.  They come in really pretty colors too.  My personal faves are Good to Go and Love Forever!  (I'm just not sure of the availability of the line here in Manila though... the last time I checked, they only have Unlimited on stock.)
