Urban Flair MNL: SNEAK PEEK!

Here's a sneak peek on 2 of 4 items (HEHE DAMI)  i'll be putting on sale soon :)  To all my friends, bumili kayo kundi 'di na tayo friends. hahaha :D

And here's 1 of 2 shoes I'll be selling as well.  The pair below is actually pre-loved but used only ONCE.  I LOVE THIS, but I ordered them online and got the wrong size.  It looks snug on the photo, but it's actually big for me so I never used it after that one time coz it was so hard to walk in them being loose and all :(

Shoe #2 is Brand NEW so watch out for that. :D

MAC Lipstick in Saint Germain (Amplified Creme)

This is probably the easiest lipstick to review 'coz for me, MAC Saint Germain has no flaws! (Haha mejo biased coz I'm in love with this.)

Getting my hands on this baby took about 2 years.  Though MAC was already available here in the Philippines at that time, never did I get lucky at scoring this from their lipstick counter.  I was so crazy about the barbie pink, almost nude shade that I considered ordering direct from the US..but I never found the time and patience to do so.  I settled for Revlon's Pink Pout from their matte line which I reviewed here: http://www.facebook.com/mobileprotection#!/note.php?note_id=1141727606

Two years after, I decided to finally order online..kere ko na magwait ng 2 months!!  So there I go, happily placing my order, only to receive an email from MAC two days later saying that Saint Germain is currently back ordered and that they cant give me the exact date when it will be available again. Ugh.  I felt like Saint Germain and I weren't meant to be :(

But I didnt give up... I found a friend who was vacationing in the U.S. and nakakahiya man to the nth level, asked her to get me one. TEEHEE.. Of course I paid her naman noh! Yay success! She immediately sent me a message in FB when she got one! :D  I also asked her to get me this TO DIE FOR EYESHADOW PALETTE...which I'll review in the coming days.. wait for it :D

WOW. Haba ng intro ko, sana skinip niyo na lang. HAHAHA!

Anyway, on to the review.

MAC's Saint Germain is a blue-based cotton candy pink, sort of pastel by itself and may not suit everyone BUT I STILL LOVE IT.  I'm an NC42, and Saint Germain is kind of hard to wear on its own with my kind of skin tone.  But what the heck, when the ad for the sugarsweet collection in 2009 came out.. I knew I can pull it off too :P

Here's a photo of me wearing Saint Germain:

You be the judge, haha I know not everyone would like it on me but my very criticizing boyfriend liked it on me so MAJOR SUCCESS! I love you Ringo! Haha :D

Unlike Revlon Matte 002 Pink Pout, this one is VERY OPAQUE.  I am acidic and my lips are VERY pigmented.  I was surprised when I first put this on coz it immediately coated my lips with beautiful color with just one swipe. I LOVE IT, I WAS IN LOVE WITH THIS RIGHT THEN AND THERE! Chorna na kung ang light and weird niya at first glance. HAHA

I haven't worn this on it's own though.  Mejo nashy ako sa mga titingin sakin.  Next time I go out at night na lang i'll try.  On it's own, it's not really for day wear.  What I do is layer it over my MAC Barely Nude lipliner to warm up the color...and that's it.  No more gloss on top coz it's an amplified cream formulation which makes it non-drying.  It does stay on the lips for a pretty long time..like today I put it on at 10 AM and my lips were still pretty pink 'til 6PM :D  I got it for US $14.50 plus tax :D

I love pairing his color with smokey eye makeup--PERFECT!  But is still works as well with my usual office makeup of browns and naturals.

GOW NA! BUY NA! You won't regret getting this one! :D

Random: COLLEGE LEGS

Totally random post. I'm actually just waiting for  7 p.m. so that I can leave the office... You see, I'm coding on Tuesdays and I'm scared of getting caught by the MMDA so I just sit here in the office while waiting and do advanced work if there's any, or browse through my fave websites if there's none.. and today i did the latter :P

Upon browsing, I saw a picture of Vanessa Hudgen's golden, perfect, and toned legs.

I MISS MY COLLEGE LEGS!!!!!!! :( Now they're fat, extra short coz theyre fat, dark which should kinda lessen the fatness but doesnt, and icky coz theyre fat.

UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

(Told ya, totally random. HAHA)

Currently Wearing: MAC Studio Sculpt SPF15 Foundation

I wanted to love this product. I want to love all products by MAC. Unfortunately this was just a so-so :(

Remember when I blogged about getting so giddy to get a new foundation? At the time, I quickly browsed through MAC online to look at possible choices to replace my current fave, Maybelline (I think it's called Aqua Smooth foundation, I forgot, sorry :|) . Seeing that I've loved all things MAC that I've purchased, I was kinda expecting I'd love the foundation I'll get from them too.  I was eyeing the Studio Fix Fluid since I really liked it liquid formulation and matte finish.

I first dropped by MAC Shang, but my shade was already out of stock and since they can't give me an exact date on their next shipment, I decided to go to the newly opened Trinoma branch.  The Trinoma branch is not a whole store (yet), just a small stall near Aldo Accessories.  By this time, I was intent on getting my hands on the foundation already coz I really had no foundation left at home.  Lone finishing powder on me just doesnt work.  My face is just THAT uneven :/ Unfortunately, they're also out of my shade for the Studio Fix Fluid.  Bummer!  The sales lady just recmmended another line that I may be interested in, the Studio Sculpt.  She even said that this is a lot better than the Fix Fluid since this gives a more even coverage with a dewy finish.  I tried it on the counter, saw that it perfectly blends with my skin tone, and with the approval of my sister Boomie, purchased it.  This cost me Php 1,900.00 for a 40mL tube.  I believe it only comes in this size.

Here's the product description on MAC's website:

A creamy, luxurious, gel-based foundation that provides medium buildable to high coverage with a natural satin finish. Hydrating, instantly revitalizes the skin while keeping it looking smooth, soft and plush. Long-wearing, water-resistant

The verdict?  I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and I can't say I'm fully satisfied with the product.  Or I just probably expected too much?  I was actually happy the first time I used it.  It was the night I was hailed as Reyna Elena of San Miguel, Bulacan (HAHA!).  But it just started to go downhill after that.  A few hours after application, I feel that the product's just too heavy on my face.  But true to what the sales lady promised, it does give me a dewy glow.  Only, I dont think dewy goes well with OILY. It just highlighted my oiliness :( I think the product would work a lot better on someone with normal, or even dry skin.  The coverage is really light on me, that or it just really blended well with my skin tone.  Haha but I would believe the former as it didnt really cover my acne marks well.  It is buildable though so covering marks isnt really a problem, but then that would only make it feel heavier. :(  Finish is matte upon application, but an hour after dewy/oily (on my skin) already.  Also, I can't use my Beauty Blender with this as the formulation is more gel-like than liquid.  I just use my fingers to apply this.    On the pro side, it is long-wearing and really looks natural.  I also like the tube container, easy to squeeze and estimate just the needed amount.

Studio Sculpt isn't really a product I'd consider affordable, so I'm currently working with it rather than getting a nepw one.  I use my mineralized finishing powder over it after about 2minutes of application to set.  I also switched to an oil control cleanser so that kinda helped minimizing the oiliness level of my skin.  (I'll share the VERY EFFECTIVE product with you soon on this blog :)  I also ensure that I have oil blotting strips with me all the time... and my trusty Maybelline Compact Powder which I'm about to replace soon as well.  (Drop me a line to suggest any if you know a good Compact Powder :)

Would I recommend this product? YES, if you have normal skin.  It really does blend well with your skin and the dewy finish is just BEAUTIFUL :)  But if you have oily skin like me (I can't stress it enough HAHA) then SKIP this.
